Biography:
Lisa Forberg has focused her family law practice since 2006 on Collaborative Law and other effective processes for arriving at negotiated settlements, including Early-Stage Mediation. This has helped hundreds of families find ways to resolve their difficult issues, during or after divorce, with minimal harm to children and other family relationships. These approaches preserve both the assets of the marital estate and the privacy of the family.
In 2015, Lisa was named in the national bestseller, Conscious Uncoupling, by author Katherine Woodward Thomas, as one of the country’s change agents in divorce practice—who are working hard to improve things both emotionally and financially—for divorcing couples. The book describes a same-sex divorce based on a case Lisa handled where the parties chose the Collaborative Divorce process to resolve their disputes. Lisa has been a leader in this process, since first being trained in 2006.
Lisa currently serves on the MTCA Board of Directors and is Director of Public Education for the organization.
Lisa is past-co-chair of the Collaborative Law Alliance (of New Hampshire). She has also been a speaker to groups of judges, clergy, therapists and business leaders on the topic of Collaborative Law. Lisa’s articles on Collaborative Practice have appeared in NH state legal publications as well as in a New England Regional legal practice book.
